It uses Bitcoin's technology to create a new blockchain with a smaller size and faster block times (2.5 minutes), targeting ASIC-resistance for decentralized GPU mining. BitCore employs the MEGA-BTX consensus algorithm, along with 10MB Segwit-enabled blocks, enabling a high transaction throughput. BitCore's hybrid fork model involved a snapshot of the Bitcoin blockchain on April 24, 2017, distributing BTX to addresses holding at least 0.01 BTC, with a claim ratio of 0.5 BTX per 1 BTC initially, later 1:1 for a limited time. This blockchain offers a pathway for users to engage with Proof of Work (PoW) mining. With Masternodes available through Odarhom Core, BTX can also be earned this way.
